The historian is very old, but he seems very knowledgable.
"Very famous people lived in the Middle Ages. For instance, Machiavelli wrote 'The Art of War' in the Middle Ages. Other famous people include William the First, who conquered England in 1066, and who defeated Harold of England in the Battle of Hastings. The Crusades happened at this time, and boy were they a farce! An old poem goes:
The Pope says to go
March across Europe with God
Burn, rape, and pillage.
It's a great one! Other people include Pope Urban II, who organized (if that word can be used) the first Crusade. Then there was the Hundred Years War, but I won't even get into that! Come back when you have the time and I'll tell you the complete history of the world. It takes nearly thirty-four years, but it's worth it."
